We are looking for a school nurse to work in a dynamic and vibrant IB school. This is an opportunity to be part of a nurse led team that encourages innovative care and health promotion for young people. We have 1300 students ranging in age from 0 to 18 years old.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Attending to any injuries and illnesses during the school day
2. Assessing health needs of children, agreeing individual and school health care plans.
3. Playing an advisory role in immunisation and vaccination programmes
4. Supporting children with medical needs
5. Offering support and promoting positive mental health in young people
6. Contributing to the maintenance of a safe school environment and prevention of accidents
7. Contributing to personal health and social education.
8. Contributing to the safeguarding team.
9. Working together with the learning support and counselling teams.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
1. A high level of English ( essential) and Spanish (preferable)
2. Ability to work independently.
3. Experience working with children and adolescents in a healthcare setting.
4. Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to handle medical emergency situations in the school
The school nurse contract is for 24. 75 hours per week over 3 days. Successful applicants will have the school holidays free, but will be required to work during summer camp in July.
